Spicy Chicken Vindaloo

Looking for an Indian recipe that’s going to impress your guests without requiring hours over a hot stove? This one is always a hit; a traditional mild curry with tomato and onion. Once your taste buds get a load of these flavors, give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done. We won’t tell your guests how easy it really was.


  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 lb medium chicken breasts, diced
  • 1 jar Patak’s® Vindaloo Spicy Simmer Sauce
  • Handful cherry tomatoes (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (garnish)


  1. Heat the oil in a medium saucepan on medium-low heat.
  2. Add the chicken and cook, stirring often, for 5 to 7 min, until lightly browned.
  3. Add the Patak’s® Vindaloo Spicy Simmer Sauce and simmer until the chicken is cooked through, about 15 min.
  4. While the sauce is simmering, toss in the cherry tomatoes.
  5. Serve with a side of fluffy rice, garnish with cilantro and mop up the sauce with warm naan.


You can also substitute shrimp for the chicken, or swap out the chicken for vegetables or paneer. You’ll need to adjust the simmer time accordingly.
